In West Java, we follow the journey of three Community Health Workers (CHW) as they serve people in their area. Communities rely heavily on CHWs as they provide great assistance to overwhelmed public health centres. They are trusted, agile, ready 24/7 and knowledgeable in various health issues. However, they are barely compensated because their work is treated as voluntary service. This calls for a system that treats them better.
